Muangthai Capital Public Company Limited (MTC) has been selected as a Thailand Sustainability Investment (THSI) by the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) for the second consecutive year. This recognition reflects Muangthai Capital's commitment to sustainable business development with a focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations in its operations. The company's inclusion in the Thailand Sustainability Investment (THSI) list is also used as a criterion in calculating the SETTHSI index to further promote sustainable investment.
Despite the global and Thai challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2023, Muangthai Capital has intensified its ESG risk management and preparedness for new potential risks. It has continuously improved its Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to ensure efficient business operations and mitigate impacts, as evidenced by the second-quarter performance.
In October, the management outlined a strategic plan to become a 'responsible microfinance credit service provider' and unveiled the third mid-term operational plan covering 2023-2025. This comprehensive plan encompasses all aspects of being a non-bank financial institution, aiming for sustained growth while maintaining leadership, especially in customer base expansion, market share and setting industry benchmarks in ESG. The company plans to expand its branches by an average of 500-600 new branches annually and diversify platforms both online and offline to create a competitive edge, aiming for a sustainable growth rate of 20-25% annually. Additionally, the operational plan includes enhancing credit risk control efficiency, aiming to reduce Credit Costs. The company focuses on building systems and mechanisms to maximize employee potential, targeting increased organizational productivity. Moreover, there is an emphasis on preparing employees to adapt to various future changes effectively.
